There is a need for a comprehensive Arabic e-dictionary. This isnt it.

There is definitely a lot of material in Al-Mawrid Al Qareeb, and the presentation isnt bad. However there are some glaring functional omissions in this application in order that it may truly function as a pocket English-Arabic Dictionary and replacement for the printed variety. The biggest flaw is namely that none of the nouns indicate the plural form of the word.

That mistake aside, there are also many common words Ive come across in everyday colloquial Levantine and Gulf Arabic speech that do not appear in this book.

The developers need to polish off the content a bit more before they can use the name Al Mawrid (connoting the comprehensiveness of the printed version) for this iOS app.
